I had a canon MF5770 scanner broke down and ink is smudging I had it only 13 months.

We print about 70 pages a day – letters normally. I need it to be a good scanner and soemthing that doesn’t have paper jam’s all day long or scanner freezes halfway through for 5-10 mins.

    So we just got in a new Panasonic DP-8035 multifunction printer/copier/scanner/fax. It does just about everything but butter your toast (allegedly). Problem is we got it mainly for printing from the network, and it won’t print.

    We’ve set it up as per the instructions, and configured the IP address, mask, and gateway to the same settings as the old printer. It pings on the network just fine, and the driver on the print server is correct, however we’re getting this error, "PC Data Cannot Complete".

    Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

    I’m looking into purchasing a moderately priced (0-350..maybe a little more) multifunction printer. I’m doing my research first this time around! Could anyone recommend a multifunction printer that has the best compatibility with the Apple Airport Extreme base station and possibly have all functions supported. If not, just printing will do. I’m interested in a printer with a auto doc feeder, preferably, beyond that I’m not picky. I really don’t need the photo perfect printing with memory card readers and the pretty display… just cut and dry office multi function. If anyone knows of any I would absolutely love the input.     I am going to purchase an HP multifunction printer (Over Brother) based on my personal experiences with HP. I want the latest models for Inkjet all-in-one printers (With a fax, though if the printer is better quality and doesn’t have a fax, that is fine then). I want high quality, excellent print output, can even be a little slow and loud, just as long as it prints amazing, and has all the features. If it has a fax, that would be even better. Any 2008 models released this year, or even 2007?

    - Also, I was wondering what the costs were for replacing the ink cartridges. I currently have an older PSC model that uses only 2 ink cartridges, no need for the separate magenta, cyan, and yellow. How long do those cartridges last (I heard they are expensive and don’t last long, which is almost what made me chose a Brother MFC).

    - Do any of the printers printer as high quality as the Canon Pixma line?

    .. Alright so I am buying a late Christmas gift for some friends of mine, who have just come back from London. They have no printer, but have expressed how much they need one. They would like an all-in-one/multifunction printer WITH A FAX. I cannot decide whether to buy HP’s brand of all-in-one printers, or Brother.

    .. I currently have an HP and have only gone through 2 over 6 years, have been pretty decent quality, but have had some problems. I would probably purchase an HP, but there are no "latest" models that have all four features (Fax, Printer, Scanner, Copier). All the HP models that have those 4 features are older, and outdated. If I had to settle for 3 for them (W/O a fax), then I will, but I was really hoping to get them the works..

    .. I have never used a Brother printer, but I have been reading very great reviews. There are numerous models that have all the 4 features I was looking for, but I do not know how fast they print, or even more importantly the print quality (Even if a little slow, they can deal for high quality/resolution). My limit for a printer is around 0.00, and the Brother printers I have been looking at are; MFC-6490CW, MFC-990CW, MFC-885CW, MFC-5890CN, MFC-790CW, MFC-685CW, MFC-490CW, or one of the sorts. I would probably go with the MFC-6490CW..

    .. So any recommendations on which brand produces a better multifunction printer would be greatly appreciated..
